colorless "white" diamonds. |

 At an auction held at
Christie's in Geneva in November 2007, the selling price of a 2.26-carat Fancy Purplish Red octagonal diamond reached the sum of
$1,180,339 per carat, or $2,667,567 for the stone. A world record for the price per carat for a red diamond. This diamond,
which is set in a ring (left-hand photo), had been valued prior to the sale at approximately $1.5 million; it was bought by Laurence Graff. |

4) The diamond's cut shape.
5) The
diamond's weight in carat.
