You can search for a diamond by selecting one of the shapes below:

The round brilliant is the bestseller cut, and is the most traditional one. It has 57 facets and is completely standardized. Diamantaires master this cut perfectly, so as to bring out the best fire and brilliance out of diamonds. The proportions of a round brilliant cut diamond must respect a set of criteria (crown angles, culet angles, etc.) for the gemstone to reflect light from one facet to another as best as possible. If the diamond is ill-proportioned and/or ill-cut, light will not be reflected the way it should. The diamond will not have any brilliance, fire, or sparkle.

Other shapes (princess, oval, pear, etc.) are not standardized. These shapes are labelled as "fancy". Although gemstones with the same shape will look alike, the proportions and table sizes will vary.

Here are some useful tips for choosing a certified diamond within our diamond bourse:

  • For those who are in a hurry and who do not care for technical details, we advise you to use our "Expert Opinion" filter. By selecting diamonds with 5, 6, and 7 stars, you will be assured of purchasing a high quality diamond with beautiful color, clarity, and proportions. This filter goes over each criterion so as to select only those corresponding to the number of stars that you have chosen. To use this filter, you need to click onto the secondary filters, which can be accessed from our diamond bourse. You can also filter the results by using other filters that are available (price, shape, carat weight, color, clarity, etc.).
  • For those who have more time to spare, or that wish to look for their dream diamond by themselves, we advise you first to choose the shape of your diamond (round brilliant cut, princess cut, oval cut, etc.).
  • You should then choose the carat weight of your future diamond. For the record, a round brilliant cut diamond that weighs one carat will be between 6.4 and 6.5 mm in diameter.
  • You should then choose the color grade - or hue - of your future diamond according to the color-grading scale. If you wish to buy a colorless diamond (i.e. with no hue and white-looking), we recommend that you pick a diamond whose color grade is included between D and H. The best color grade is D; there are no A, B, or C color grades. Below H, your diamond will have a slightly yellow hue visible to the naked eye.
  • Next, choose the clarity grade of your diamond according to the clarity scale. If you want a diamond whose inclusions are not visible to the naked eye, we advise you to choose a clarity grade between FL and SI2 for a round brilliant cut diamond. Be careful about some diamond shapes like princess cuts, emerald cuts, and asscher cuts; their tables are large enough for inclusions to be visible to the naked eye, even if these shapes have a SI1 or SI2 clarity grade. For these shapes, it is recommended that you choose a clarity grade greater than or equal to VS2. We do not recommend I1, I2 or I3 diamonds because their inclusions will be visible.
  • You should then choose a cut quality, polish and symmetry labelled as Ideal, Excellent, Very Good, or Good.
  • Choose a diamond that exhibits a fluorescence included between "None" and "Medium". Fluorescence can only be seen under ultraviolet light. If a diamond exhibits fluorescence, it will look blue under ultraviolet light. A fluorescence that is "Strong" or "Very Strong" will lower the price of D and H color diamonds. Conversely, a "Medium", "Strong", or "Very Strong" fluorescence will contribute to increasing the value of diamonds with a color grade less than or equal to "I".
  • Then, choose the gemological laboratory that examined and appraised the diamond. We advise you to choose a GIA, HRD or IGI certified diamond. These three gemological laboratories are recognised by professionals for their accurate analyses. They are trustworthy and impartial. The gemological laboratory will be the one to guarantee that the diamond you wish to purchase is natural, untreated (clarity and color wise), of a certain color/clarity grade, and that it has a good cut quality.

Online sale of fancy colored diamonds

We invite you to browse our stock of fancy color diamonds, in which you will find 36,289 yellow, pink, orange, brown, blue, and green diamonds. They are all GIA, HRD or IGI certified.

You can research a diamond by clicking on one of the colors above:

Because yellow and brown diamonds are the most numerous on the market, they are more affordable than other fancy color diamonds.

Pink, blue, green, and red diamonds are extremely rare, and therefore very costly. There are only about ten red diamonds worldwide, and their price can reach  $1,000,000.00 per carat. The cost of blue and green diamonds can be astronomical when these have a strong intensity (Intense or Vivid.)

Fancy color diamonds have six different hues for yellow and brown:

  • Fancy Light
  • Fancy
  • Fancy Intense
  • Fancy Vivid
  • Fancy Deep
  • Fancy Dark

And nine different hues for other colors:

  • Faint
  • Very Light
  • Light
  • Fancy Light
  • Fancy
  • Fancy Intense
  • Fancy Vivid
  • Fancy Deep
  • Fancy Dark

"Intense" and "Vivid" are the most sought-after hues.

The world of colored diamonds has a distinct place in the diamond industry; there is an array of colors and hues for these gemstones. Very often, a diamond has two or three colors and/or hues; it can be Fancy Greenish Yellow for example.

The particularity of fancy color diamonds is that there is no price list to help figure out their value. Diamantaires use Rapaport price lists to assess the value of colorless diamonds, but no equivalent exists for fancy color diamonds. As such, their value is based on color, hue, but also supply and demand: the rarer the color is, the higher the price will be.

What matters most when buying a fancy color diamond is the color intensity of the gemstone. It is the satisfaction and joy that looking at this gemstone will give you. Shape, clarity, and cut quality are far less important when buying these diamonds than when buying colorless diamonds.

Lab Grown Diamond

If you want to buy a Lab Grown Diamond, you have come to the right place, all our Lab Created Diamonds are certified by the best gemological laboratories in the world (GIA, HRD and IGI).

A Lab Grown Diamond is a man-made diamond, this diamond has been grown in culture chambers, it can also be called "Lab Created Diamond", "Laboratory Grown Diamond" or "Cultured Diamond".

As the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) says, a laboratory diamond has the same physical, chemical and optical properties as the mined diamond, the only difference is that it grew in grow rooms in just 3-4 weeks when it will have took millions of years to create a natural diamond.

Lab Grown Diamond costs 3 to 10 times less than a mined diamond

We will quickly understand why the Laboratory Grown Diamond has become so popular in recent years: a diamond sold 3 to 10 times cheaper than a mined diamond.

We know precisely the place of manufacture of a Lab Created Diamond, therefore it does not have all the problems of traceability that can have natural diamonds (diamonds from conflict zones, blood diamonds, conflict diamonds). Lab Grown Diamond does not damage nature, since it is manufactured in factories.

Fancy Color Lab Grown Diamond

If you want to buy Colored Lab Grown Diamond, you will find on our site Internet the largest selection of Lab Grown Diamond in pink, blue, yellow or green. All these diamonds are certified by the most renowned gemological laboratories in the world (GIA, HRD and IGI).

Colored Lab Grown Diamonds was created in the same way as the Colorless Lab Grown Diamond: it grew in culture chambers. What is most surprising is that the manufacturers arrive today to create Lab Created Diamond in very rare shades such as blue, pink or green. The color intensities are also stunning, manufacturers can manufacture diamonds incredibly intense "Fancy Intense" or "Fancy Vivid".

When we know that a natural diamond of 1 carat of "Fancy Vivid Blue" color has a value between  $500,000 and  $1,000,000, a 1 carat Fancy Vivid Blue Lab Grown Diamond will only cost  $2,000 to  $5,000.

A Colored Lab Grown Diamond costs 10 to 500 times less than a natural colored diamond

There is no difference visible to the nake eye, the 2 diamonds (natural and Lab Grown) have the same hue, the same color intensity, they are both diamonds, the unique difference is that the Lab Grown Diamond was created by man and it is reproducible.
