What metals/alloys do we recommend for jewelry?
We sell white gold, yellow gold, rose gold, and platinum jewelry. We do not use silver.
We use 14K and 18K gold, as well as platinum.
It would be difficult for us to recommend one metal rather than another as this choice is first and foremost a matter of taste.
However, you should know that white gold is the alloy that is most used, followed by yellow gold, then platinum, and finally rose gold.
Platinum is harder than gold, meaning that it will be more durable. However, platinum is more difficult to work with than gold, and it is also more expensive. Because platinum is denser than gold (more or less 60% denser,) a platinum piece of jewelry will cost more than a similar piece of jewelry made with gold.
Finally, choosing one metal over another will also depend on the metals used for your other pieces of jewelry. It is better to have matching metals for your jewelry; if you already have yellow gold jewelry, then perhaps it would be a good idea to purchase something with the same metal.
