Two levels:

Organized by the Institut National de Gemmologie, these courses are opened at all. Their object is the theoretical and practical study precious and fine stones used in jewellery, like their imitations.
Two levels:
1st Level (2 years in Paris and in certain provincial towns): main part of knowledge necessary to the identification of the majority of the invaluable and fine stones used in jewellery.
2e Level (2 years in Paris only): preparation with the professional diploma in gemmology. Teaching bringing to a qualification of gemmologist of international level.
The theoretical and practical courses spread out over 9 months.
Intensive courses in Paris: 1st cycle (1st and 2e years) twice two weeks of full-time course, 2e cycle (3e and 4e years) twice three weeks of full-time course.

The Harry Oppenheimer Diamond Training School is a joint venture project of the Diamond Foundation of South Africa in partnership with De Beers.
